Ecosystem and vertical fields
This is the full field reference for ecosystems and the verticals inside them, as you set them up in the Agent Training Center. It covers the three ecosystem types, ecosystem status, and every field on a vertical. Anyone calibrating who your agents target needs this. The Agent Training Center is available from the main navigation for everyone on your team.
Internal term: a “criteria sandbox” ecosystem is shown to customers as a Research Agent Sandbox.
Ecosystem types
Section titled “Ecosystem types”An ecosystem is a group of verticals you target together. The type you choose changes which fields a vertical inside it asks for and how the workspace treats it.
| Type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Ecosystem | The standard grouping. Verticals here carry a status, a priority, criterion answers, and an auto-generated business model description. Use it for the markets and segments you actively sell into. |
| Key Account | A grouping for named target accounts. Verticals here are tied to a specific company domain rather than to a market segment. |
| Research Agent Sandbox | A space for testing research agents and criteria before you apply them to live ecosystems. Verticals here are domain-based and skip status, priority, and the business model description. |
Ecosystem status
Section titled “Ecosystem status”An ecosystem can be turned on or off as a whole. Pausing an ecosystem signals that the verticals inside it are not currently in play.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Ongoing | The ecosystem is active. |
| Paused | The ecosystem is set aside and not currently being worked. |
Vertical fields
Section titled “Vertical fields”A vertical is one target segment (or, in a Key Account or Research Agent Sandbox ecosystem, one target company). The fields below define it. Which fields appear depends on the ecosystem type, noted in the last column.
| Field | What it means | Values / where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Name | The label for the vertical. Required. | Free text. All ecosystem types. |
| Domain | The company website the vertical points at. | Free text web address. Key Account and Research Agent Sandbox ecosystems only. |
| Status | Whether this vertical is actively being worked. Defaults to Ongoing on a new vertical. | Ongoing, Paused, Crashed. Ecosystem and Key Account types. |
| Priority | How important this vertical is relative to others. Defaults to High on a new vertical. | High, Medium, Low, Exclude. Ecosystem and Key Account types. |
| Criterion answers | The values you set for each qualification and research agent assigned to the vertical. These are what your agents check against. The form groups them under Qualification Agents and Research Agents, each showing a count of how many apply. | One answer per assigned agent; the answer type matches the agent (Text, Number, Range, Select, Multi-Select, Yes/No, or Regions). All ecosystem types that have agents assigned. |
| Business model description | An auto-generated description of the vertical, built from its criterion answers. It helps agents identify pain points and map personas. Open a vertical to read the full text. | Generated by the workspace. Ecosystem type. |
| Manual Input to Business Model Description | Text you supply to steer the auto-generated description. Found under Advanced settings. | Free text. Ecosystem type. |
| Business Model Description Length (# of Words) | Your target length for the auto-generated description, in words. Found under Advanced settings. | Number. Ecosystem type. |
| Notes | Free notes for list building and mapping who to target: guidelines, platforms, tools, and resources. Found under Advanced settings. Your agents do not use this field; it is for you only and has no effect on agent output. | Free text. Ecosystem and Key Account types. |
A note on status values
Section titled “A note on status values”Ongoing and Paused are the states you use to mark whether a vertical is in play. Crashed is the third value, and it flags that something failed while the vertical was being processed rather than a state you would set during normal calibration.
A note on the business model description
Section titled “A note on the business model description”While the description is being built, the vertical shows Generating… (or Regenerating… if you are replacing an existing one). If the build fails, it shows that it failed to generate. The Manual Input and Length fields let you shape the result without writing the description by hand.
