Sign in, reset your password, and sign out
Signing in is the first thing you do before any other task in the workspace. This page covers logging in with your email and password, completing two-step verification when it is required, recovering a forgotten password, and signing out cleanly.
Log in
Section titled “Log in”- Open the workspace. You land on the Login to Evergrowth screen, which reads “Please login to continue to your account”.
- Enter your work email in the Email field.
- Enter your Password.
- Select Login.
If your account is already signed in, you skip this screen and go straight to the workspace.
Complete two-step verification
Section titled “Complete two-step verification”If your account has two-step verification turned on, logging in with your email and password is the first step. The workspace then prompts you for a second factor. What you see depends on how your account is set up.
When you have more than one verification method, you see a panel titled “Choose a verification method to continue.” with one button per method:
- Use authenticator app - enter a code from an authenticator app you have already set up.
- Email a code - the workspace sends a code to your email address and shows it as “Email a code to” followed by that address.
Select the method you want to use.
When you use an authenticator app, the workspace shows an OTP field. Open your authenticator app, read the current six-digit code, type it in, and select Login.
When you choose email verification, the workspace shows the message “We sent a verification code to your email. Enter it below to continue.” Open the email, copy the code, type it into the Verification code field, and select Login.
When you have not set up verification yet, you can set it up during login:
- Set up authenticator app - the workspace shows a QR code with the note “Scan this QR with Authenticator to setup your OTP”. Scan it with your authenticator app, then type the six-digit code it generates into the OTP field and select Login.
- Email a code - the workspace sends a code to your email; enter it in the Verification code field and select Login.
Verification codes are six digits.
Reset a forgotten password
Section titled “Reset a forgotten password”- On the login screen, select Forgot password?.
- You land on the Forgot Password? screen.
- Enter your work email in the Email field.
- Select Continue. The workspace confirms with “Check your email for further instructions”.
- To go back without resetting, select Back to login.
Open the email and follow its link to set a new password. On that screen, titled Reset your password:
- Type your new password in the New password field. It must be at least 8 characters and include at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, and one number.
- Type it again in the Reenter password field. The two entries must match.
- Select Reset. You are returned to the login screen, where you sign in with the new password.
If you arrived from a team invitation rather than a reset, the same screen instead greets you with the name of the person who invited you and notes that an invitation was sent to your email, asking you to set a password to join the team; the button there reads Get Started.
A reset link works only once and only for a limited time. If it has already been used or has expired, you see a screen titled “This link is no longer valid.” Request a new link by going through Forgot password? again, or contact your workspace admins or support.
Sign out
Section titled “Sign out”Open the menu from your email and avatar at the bottom of the navigation sidebar, then select Log out. Signing out clears your saved session and the data cached in your browser, so the next person on that device cannot reach your records. You are returned to the login screen.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- After a successful login (and verification, if prompted), you go to your workspace home. If you tried to open a specific page before logging in, the workspace takes you there instead.
- After resetting a password, you return to the login screen and sign in with the new password.
- After signing out, you stay on the login screen until you sign in again.
If a verification code does not arrive by email, check your spam folder and confirm you entered the right email address. If an authenticator code is rejected, make sure your device clock is accurate and that you are reading the current code, since codes rotate every few seconds.
