Find verified email and phone, and verify phones

The Email/Phone finder searches across multiple data providers in sequence (waterfalling) to find an email address and phone number for a contact, and can verify what it finds. There is also a separate action to verify phone numbers you already have. Use this when a contact record is missing reliable contact details, or when you want to confirm an existing number before you dial. For more on what waterfalling does, see Finding email and phone numbers.

These actions appear on the contact list and on the contact detail page. If you are signed in with a read-only seat, the action controls are hidden.

  • Phone intent scoring and the separate phone verification action both run through the TitanX integration. If TitanX is not connected, those options are disabled and you will see “TitanX integration is missing.” with a link to Manage TitanX integration. Email finding and basic phone finding do not require TitanX. See Connect a data source or CRM.
  • The finder runs on any contact you select. It does not require the contact to be qualified as a persona fit first, so you can look up details for gatekeepers, referrers, or people you intend to qualify later.
  • Running the finder consumes credits. See Credits.
  1. To run on one contact, open the contact and use the Email/Phone finder action in the page header. To run on several at once, go to the contacts list, select the rows you want, and choose Email/Phone finder from the actions bar.
  2. The Email/Phone finder for contacts window opens. The footer shows how many contacts are selected.
  3. Turn on Search for email to look for an email address. Inside it, Email verification verifies any found emails with third-party providers; it is on by default when email search is on.
  4. Turn on Search for phone number to look for a phone number.
  5. Optionally turn on Phone intent scoring, which scores found numbers through TitanX. This option is only available when TitanX is connected. When it is on, pick a Phone scoring model:
    • Lightning Scoring (under 24-hour turnaround): a single-pass scoring run that identifies a large share of high-propensity contacts.
    • Titan Scoring (under 5-day turnaround): a multi-pass scoring run that extracts every identifiable high-propensity contact.
  6. Select Start. The window closes and a confirmation appears that the job was created.

Find another email or phone from the detail page

Section titled “Find another email or phone from the detail page”

On the contact detail page, under Contact details, each existing email or phone shows a Find other button. Use it to run the finder again for just that field and keep building on the previous result.

Verify an existing phone number (single or in bulk)

Section titled “Verify an existing phone number (single or in bulk)”
  1. To verify the phone on a single contact, open the contact, go to Contact details, and select the Verify button next to the phone number. This button appears when the number has not been verified yet.
  2. To verify in bulk, select contacts in the list, open the Other actions menu, and choose Verify phone.
  3. The Verify existing phone numbers window opens. Pick a Phone scoring model (Lightning Scoring or Titan Scoring, same options as above).
  4. Select Start. Start is disabled until TitanX is connected.

The finder and the phone verification both run as background jobs, so you do not wait on the screen. Track progress in the Task feed tab on the contact (or the workspace task feed). While agents are working on a contact, the record shows a working indicator.

Results land on the contact in two places:

  • Contacts list: the Email and Phone columns show the found values. In the Email column, if a search ran but turned up nothing, you will see “No valid email found”.
  • Contact detail page, under Contact details: the Email and Phone fields show the value, and hovering the status icon shows the verification detail. If a search ran and found nothing, the field reads “No valid email found” or “No phone numbers found”.

For email, the status can be Safe to send, Accept all, Invalid, Unverified, or Unable to verify. The detail also shows which mail server (SMTP) the address uses. Additional addresses appear under a View other emails link.

For phone, the verification status can be In progress, Verified, Unable to verify, Unverified, or Unknown, attributed to TitanX with the time it was verified. When intent scoring ran, an Intent score ranking the contact’s buying intent as high, medium, or low is shown alongside, so reps can dial the strongest targets first. Additional numbers appear under a View other phones link. Because Titan Scoring is multi-pass, a verified result can take up to several days to settle.

If a job ends in an error, see An agent job failed. If no email or phone is found, see No email or phone found.
