Find or fix a company domain (Domain Finder)

The Domain Finder agent finds the correct company domain for an account that is missing one. If an account already has a domain, the agent leaves it as it is and moves on. Most other agents need a domain to research the right company, so this is usually the first thing you run on accounts you imported by name only. You can run it on a single account or on a batch you have selected from the list. For more on the agent itself, see Domain Finder.

This surface is hidden in read-only sessions. If you do not see agent actions, you have view-only access.

  • You need the company name on the account. The agent works from the name (and any contacts or context already on the record), so an account with no name will not have enough to go on.
  • If the account already has a domain, the agent keeps it and skips the account rather than searching again. To force a fresh search, clear the domain first using Edit.
  1. Open the account from the Accounts list.
  2. In the action row at the top of the account page, select Domain finder agent. The actions appear as labeled chips next to the account name.
  3. The Domain finder agent for accounts window opens. The footer confirms how many accounts are selected (1 in this case).
  4. Under Effort Levels, choose how hard the agent should work:
    • Low Effort (1 credit) - best when the right company is easy to find or confirm. This is the default.
    • High Effort (2 credits) - best when identifying the correct company needs deeper reasoning, for example an ambiguous or common name.
  5. Select Start to run, or Cancel to close without running.
  1. Go to the Accounts list and select the accounts you want using the checkboxes.
  2. In the bulk action bar, select Domain finder agent.
  3. The Domain finder agent for accounts window opens. The footer shows the number of accounts selected.
  4. Pick the effort level as above. The same level applies to every selected account.
  5. Select Start.

After you start, you will see a Job created successfully confirmation.

The agent runs in the background, one job per account. While it is working, the account shows a blue agent badge with the tooltip “Agents are working on this account…”, and a working indicator appears on the Task feed tab.

When the agent finds a domain, it writes it to the account’s domain field automatically. Open the account and check the domain near the account name; a small icon next to it opens the company website in a new tab. The agent’s reasoning and run are recorded on the Task feed tab, so you can see what it decided and why.

If the account already had a domain, the agent skips that account and the domain stays as it was. If no domain could be found, the field is left empty and the run is noted in the task feed - see No email or phone found for the contact-finding equivalent, or re-run at High Effort for harder cases.

Once the domain is set, the account is ready for the agents that depend on it, such as Run a Qualification agent and Run a Research agent.
