Set up and use velocity widgets

Velocity widgets live on your Home dashboard, in the Your universe section at the top. This page covers creating one, using a template, sharing it with your team, launching its workflow, and keeping its count current. For what a widget is and why it is worth setting one up, see Velocity widgets.

Viewing widgets and their counts is available to everyone. Creating, editing, deleting, and sharing widgets, and launching their workflows, follow separate permissions - if a control below is missing for you, your role does not have it. See Roles and access.

  1. On your Home dashboard, in Your universe, select Add new, then Create from scratch.
  2. On the Details step, enter a Name and an optional Description, and choose whether the widget tracks Accounts or Contacts.
  3. Select Next to move to the Audience step. Choose one:
    • Select from existing Saved views - pick one of your saved views from the dropdown. See Saved views.
    • Build your custom filter - build a filter directly on the widget, the same way you would on the Accounts or Contacts list.
  4. Select Next to move to the Workflow step. Choose one:
    • Select from default agents - pick one of the built-in agent quick actions (for example Account Qualification or Account Research).
    • Select from your workflows - search for and pick one of your own custom workflows.
    • Leave this step empty if you only want the widget to track a count, with no launch button.
  5. Select Create.

The new widget appears in Your universe, showing its name, description, and a Matching now count.

  1. Select Add new, then Select from templates.
  2. Browse the template gallery - it covers common working sets such as accounts whose research has gone stale, qualified accounts still missing a plan, contacts with no email or phone on file, and similar recurring gaps.
  3. On a template you want, select Add. The card updates to On dashboard once it has been added.
  4. Open the new widget’s Edit option afterward if you want to adjust its audience or workflow - a template is a starting point, not a fixed configuration.
  1. On the widget card, open its overflow menu and select Share. This option only appears if you have permission to share widgets.
  2. Assign the widget to specific users or teams.
  3. Select Assign to save. Sharing a widget adds it to your dashboard as a workspace widget: anyone it is shared with now sees the same tile on their own dashboard, and any of them can edit or act on it, depending on their own permissions. A widget with nobody assigned reverts to personal, visible only to its creator.
  1. On the widget card, check the Matching now count - this is how many records currently match the audience.
  2. Select the launch button (labeled for the attached agent, for example Launch Qualification agent, or Launch workflow for a custom workflow). The button is disabled if the count is zero or a launch is already running.
  3. A popover opens where you choose how many of the matching records this run should include - drag the slider or type a number, from 1 up to the full count. Confirm with the button at the bottom, labeled for your choice (for example Launch for all 240 records or Launch for 50 records).
  4. The widget shows the launch’s status while it runs, and its count refreshes automatically once the run finishes.

If the matching records change between opening the popover and confirming - for example some were requalified out of the audience, or newer records pushed others past the limit you set - the launch is refused rather than run against a stale list. Reopen the popover to pick up the current count and try again.

Widget counts refresh automatically on their own, but you can also refresh by hand:

  • One widget - open its overflow menu and select Refresh count.
  • Every widget on your dashboard - select Refresh counts at the top of Your universe.
  1. On the widget card, open its overflow menu and select Edit to change its name, description, audience, or workflow, using the same steps as creation.
  2. Select Delete to remove it. The Delete widget? dialog then offers:
    • Delete only for me - shown only on a workspace widget you were assigned, not the one who shared it. Removes it from your own dashboard; everyone else keeps it.
    • Delete for everyone (or Delete, if the widget was never shared) - removes it entirely. Workflow runs it already launched are not affected either way.

A widget’s count keeps itself current, so once it is set up there is nothing further to maintain beyond adjusting its audience or workflow as your process changes. A shared widget stays in sync for everyone it is assigned to - editing it once updates what the whole team sees.
