Create persona cards and assign them
Persona cards describe the kinds of people you want to reach inside target accounts: their seniority, area of expertise, and the job titles they hold. The Contact Finder and Contact Research agents use these cards to decide who to look for and what to learn about them. This page shows how to create a persona card, assign it to the verticals where it applies, and attach research agents to it.
Persona cards live in the Agent Training Center. Creating, editing, assigning, and deleting cards require full access. With a read-only account you can open and browse the cards, but the Add new, edit, assign, and delete controls are hidden.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Before a persona card can do useful work it needs somewhere to apply. Assigning a card requires at least one vertical or key account to already exist in your ecosystems. If you have none yet, set those up first; you can still create the card and assign it later.
Create a persona card
Section titled “Create a persona card”- Open Agent Training Center and go to the Persona cards page.
- Select Add new in the top right. The Create persona card dialog opens.
- Set the three fields across the top:
- Type - the role this persona plays in a deal. Choose Decision Maker, Influencer, or Champion. Picking a type fills in suggested defaults for Job Seniority, Job Experience, and Job Title examples (for example, Decision Maker prefills “VP, Director or Head” and “+7 years”). You can edit those afterward.
- Status - the current state of this persona in your process: Ongoing, Paused, or Crashed.
- Contact finder priority - how strongly the Contact Finder should favor this persona when searching for contacts: High, Medium, Low, or Exclude. Choose Exclude for a persona you want defined but not actively searched.
- Fill in the Setup Info section:
- Expertise - the primary area this persona owns (for example, Revenue). This is the headline of the card.
- Job Seniority - the seniority level (for example, Chief, President, SVP, VP, Director).
- Job Experience - the years of experience to expect (for example, +7 years).
- Job Title examples - sample titles that match this persona. Editing Expertise or Job Seniority updates a suggested value here automatically, which you can override.
- To add guidance for the agents, open Show advanced settings and fill in Manual input - detailed notes or pain points that steer how the agents prompt (for example, “Focus on new business revenue and account expansion, not retention”).
- Select Create.
Assign the card to verticals
Section titled “Assign the card to verticals”Right after you create a card, the assignment dialog opens automatically so you can place it where it belongs.
- In Select verticals to assign new or remove existing personas, expand the ecosystems and key accounts. Use the Find verticals or key accounts search to narrow the list.
- Check every vertical (or key account) where this persona typically appears. Unchecking one that was previously assigned removes the persona from it.
- Select Save.
You can reopen this any time from a card’s overflow menu (the vertical dots) using Manage assignments, or from inside the card on the Verticals tab using Assign verticals. Current assignments in the same overflow menu shows where the card is already assigned without changing anything.
Assign several cards at once
Section titled “Assign several cards at once”- On the Persona cards page, select the checkbox on each card you want to assign.
- Select Assign to verticals in the action bar. A dialog titled Select verticals to assign for these N selected personas opens (where N is the number you picked).
- Check the verticals and key accounts to assign all selected cards to, then select Assign.
Add research agents to a persona
Section titled “Add research agents to a persona”A persona card can carry its own Contact Research agents, which gather the data points you want about each matching contact.
- Open a persona card and switch to the Research agents tab.
- Select Add new and choose one of:
- Start from scratch - build a new Contact Research agent and attach it to this persona.
- Use existing - pick from your existing Contact Research agents in the Select Contact Research Agents to add for this Persona card dialog (search, check the ones you want, then Assign).
- Use template - start from a prebuilt Contact Research agent template.
- Each attached agent appears in the table on this tab. Use the row’s edit icon to adjust it, or the trash icon to unassign it.
Edit a card
Section titled “Edit a card”Select Edit persona from a card’s overflow menu, or open the card and select Edit persona at the top. The Edit persona card dialog has the same fields as create (with Manual input shown directly), plus Update to save.
Filter the list
Section titled “Filter the list”Use the filters at the top of the Persona cards page to narrow what you see: Search, Type, Status, Priority, Expertise, Ecosystem, and Vertical. The Type, Status, and Priority filters accept multiple selections.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”A new card appears on the Persona cards page showing its expertise, job seniority, type, and priority, plus chips counting the verticals, key accounts, and research agents attached to it, and the time it was last updated.
Assignments take effect immediately: the persona is added to the verticals you checked and removed from any you unchecked. On a card you opened, the Verticals tab lists each ecosystem and vertical or key account it now covers, and the Research agents tab shows the attached agents and how many there are.
From here, the Contact Finder uses the assigned cards and their Contact Finder priority to decide who to look for in matching accounts, and the attached Contact Research agents gather the data points you defined.
