Generate account plans
Account plans turn what your agents already know about an account into a written, account-specific brief you can act on. Generate one for a single account from its detail page, or for many accounts at once from the accounts list. You pick which Account plan agents to run, and each produces its own written result against the accounts you selected. For background on the agent itself, see Account planning.
This action is hidden in a read-only session. Any session that can edit records can generate plans.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need at least one Account plan agent whose status is Ongoing. Generation only offers agents in that status; agents in any other status will not appear in the list. If none qualify, the picker shows No agents found with the message No agents found, please create them first. You create and manage these in the Account Plan Agents area.
- An account plan is most useful once the account has research and signals to draw on, so run qualification and research first. See Run a Research agent.
Generate for a single account
Section titled “Generate for a single account”- Open the account’s detail page.
- In the action row at the top, click Generate account plan.
- In the Generate account plans for accounts dialog, choose which Account plan agents to run. Each row shows the agent name and up to three of its tags.
- Use the search box (Enter name or tags to filter agents) to narrow the list by name or tag. Select all and Deselect all apply to whatever is currently shown.
- The footer reads N accounts selected so you can confirm the scope before running. For a single account this is one.
- Click Start. Click Cancel to back out without running anything.
Generate for many accounts at once
Section titled “Generate for many accounts at once”- Open the accounts list.
- Select the accounts you want to plan for using the row checkboxes.
- In the bulk action row, click Generate account plan.
- The same Generate account plans for accounts dialog opens. Pick your agents exactly as above; the footer count now reflects every account you selected.
- Click Start.
Each Account plan agent you check runs once per selected account, so the number of plans produced is the number of agents times the number of accounts.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”After you click Start, a job is queued for each agent and account, and you see a Job created successfully confirmation. The dialog closes.
While agents are running on an account, its detail page shows a working indicator (the tooltip reads Agents are working on this account…), and the Task feed tab is marked as active. You can follow individual runs there. See Monitor the task feed.
Finished results land on the account’s Account plans tab, where the tab label carries a count of how many plans the account has. The table lists each plan by Name with its Last updated time. Expand a row to read the written Result as formatted text. The first row is expanded by default.
From the Account plans tab you can also:
- Regenerate a plan - re-run the same agent against the account to refresh the result. Use the per-row regenerate control, or select rows and use the bulk Regenerate action. Regenerated runs trigger a fresh job and you see a confirmation that regeneration was triggered.
- Edit Account plan prompt - open the agent’s instructions to adjust how future plans read. This per-row control appears for standard and admin sessions.
- Delete a plan, individually or in bulk.
If an agent that produced a plan has since been removed, the plan row shows a warning marker with the note Account plan no longer exists; you can still read or delete the result, but you cannot regenerate it.
Preview and compare before you commit
Section titled “Preview and compare before you commit”To see how an agent will write before running it across real accounts, open the agent in the Account Plan Agents area and choose Edit Account plan Agent. Click Show previews to open the Previews panel beside the editor.
In the previews panel, Generate new preview lets you run the agent against a few accounts of your choosing. The button is locked until you save any pending edits (the tooltip explains: Save your changes to unlock it), so a preview always reflects the saved instructions. Each preview row shows the Account name and a live Status - Queued, In progress, Completed, or Crashed - and expands to show the generated text. Select two or more rows and click Compare to view their results side by side. This is the place to refine an agent’s instructions before generating plans at scale.
